The 2026 Tesla Model Y Performance debuts as the most powerful version of the world’s bestselling electric SUV, offering supercar-like acceleration, advanced features, and a more dynamic design. Unveiled for global markets, this flagship EV boasts a facelifted look, tech-packed cabin, adaptive suspension, and a WLTP range of 580 kilometers—establishing a new benchmark in its class.
Power and Range
The new Model Y Performance features a dual-motor AWD system generating around 460 bhp. It sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds, outpacing both the standard RWD and prior Performance variants. The electronically limited top speed is 250 km/h. It offers a WLTP-rated range of 580 km on a single charge, slightly lower than the Long Range AWD, but substantially beyond most performance SUVs.
Fast Charging
Tesla claims 243 kilometers of range can be added in just 15 minutes using fast charging, ensuring unmatched practicality for road trips and daily use.
Mechanical and Driving Dynamics
For the first time, the Performance trim comes with electronic adaptive dampers and a stiffer chassis, providing better ride quality and handling. New drive modes allow for a more rear-biased torque split, maximizing road grip and driving appeal. The SUV rolls on 21-inch Arachnid alloy wheels with red brake calipers and prominent carbon-fiber spoiler for a sportier road presence.
Design and Interior Upgrades
Aggressive front and rear bumpers, exclusive badging, and carbon-fiber details distinguish the Performance model visually. Inside, it introduces new heated and ventilated sport seats with electrically adjustable thigh bolsters, a large 16-inch infotainment display, carbon-fiber dashboard accents, and a premium 15-speaker audio system with subwoofer for immersive sound.
Price and Availability
Bookings are now open across Europe, the UK, Middle East, and Africa, with deliveries expected from September 2025. The starting price in Germany is €61,990 (about ₹63.86 lakh). For India, only the standard and Long Range RWD variants are officially available at present.
